Strong Is Feminine | Fitness Photography for Women in Bunbury

You worked hard for your strength. Why not capture it?

There is something incredibly powerful about a woman who feels strong in her own body.

And strength doesn't take away from femininity.

It can be strong and feminine. Powerful and elegant. Athletic and beautiful.

That's exactly what inspired me to start creating more women's fitness photography sessions here in Bunbury.

This isn't just for fitness models

One of the biggest misconceptions about fitness photography is that you need to be a professional athlete, bodybuilder or fitness model to book a photoshoot.

You absolutely don't.

These sessions are for everyday women who train.

Maybe you lift weights several times a week. Maybe you've reached a fitness goal you've been working towards for months or years. Perhaps you've transformed your body, built strength you never thought you would have, or you're simply at a stage where you feel proud of what you've achieved.

You don't need a competition-ready physique.

You don't need professional posing experience.

And you certainly don't need to know what to do in front of the camera.

That's my job.

Celebrate what you've worked for

We take photographs to remember so many milestones in our lives — weddings, pregnancies, newborn babies, birthdays and families.

But sometimes we forget to document ourselves.

Your body changes. Your fitness journey changes. Your goals change.

The strength you have today represents hours of training, commitment and discipline that nobody else sees.

A professional fitness portrait session gives you the opportunity to stop for a moment and celebrate that achievement.

Not because you need to prove anything to anyone.

Simply because you worked for it.

Strong doesn't have to mean masculine

This is something I particularly want to explore through these sessions.

Fitness photography doesn't have to be dark, aggressive or overly masculine.

During your session we can

create a mixture of images.

Some can be powerful and athletic, using dumbbells, weight plates or other fitness equipment.

Others can be softer and more feminine, focusing on shape, definition, movement and confidence.

And some can sit beautifully somewhere between the two.

The result is a gallery that shows different sides of the same woman.

Strong. Confident. Powerful. Feminine.

“But I don't know how to pose”

You don't have to.

As with my other portrait sessions, I'll guide you throughout your photoshoot.

I'll help with your stance, hands, body positioning and angles while also paying attention to lighting and posing that showcases your physique.

We'll create a variety of photographs rather than expecting you to arrive knowing how to pose like a fitness model.

Your job is simply to bring yourself, your favourite fitness outfits and perhaps some of the equipment that represents the type of training you love.

I'll take care of the photography.

Your fitness session can be completely personal

There isn't one particular way a fitness portrait session has to look.

You might want photographs that are:

  • Strong and dramatic
  • Feminine and elegant
  • Athletic and powerful
  • Fun and confident
  • Focused on muscle definition and physique
  • A combination of fitness and traditional portraiture

Bring your favourite activewear, competition wear or another outfit that makes you feel incredible.

We can also incorporate dumbbells, weight plates, kettlebells or other suitable fitness props to make the session feel like you.

I'm looking for more strong women to photograph

After photographing this recent fitness session in my Bunbury studio, I would love to create more.

So I'm putting the invitation out there.

Where are my strong women?

If you train, lift, compete, coach, work in the fitness industry — or you're simply proud of the strength you've built — I'd love to have you in front of my camera.

You don't need to wait until you've lost another few kilos.

You don't need to wait until you're “more toned”.

And you don't need to look like somebody you follow on Instagram.

Come as you.

Let's create photographs that celebrate where you are right now.
