There's nothing quite like the first two weeks of a baby's life — that tiny, sleepy, brand-new stage that disappears almost as fast as it arrives. This is exactly what I love capturing as a Bunbury newborn photographer, and baby Luca's session was no exception.

Luca came into the studio at just a few days old, and like most newborns, he set the pace for the whole session — plenty of feeding breaks, cuddles, and time to settle before we captured a single frame. That's how every newborn session works here: gentle, unhurried, and led entirely by baby's comfort and safety.

We worked through a mix of soft wrapped poses, close-up detail shots of his tiny hands and feet, and a few simple portraits with his parents — the kind of images that mean even more with time. Newborn skin, newborn smells, that particular newborn curl-up — it all changes so quickly, and these photos are what let families hold onto it.
