What Is a Photography Session Fee?

If you've ever wondered what a photography session fee includes, you're not alone.

A session fee primarily covers your photographer's time, expertise and professional service. This includes preparing for your session, providing equipment, directing and posing, creating your images, and selecting and editing the best photographs for your gallery.

In other words, you're paying for the experience and skill involved in creating your photographs—not simply for a set number of digital images.

photography-session-feeProfessional photography is about more than taking photographs — I guide and direct you throughout your session to create beautiful, natural images.

Are photographs included?

Photography pricing varies between photographers. Some charge a session fee and sell photographs separately, while others include a certain number of images or offer collections.

At Carien Lee Photography, the number of COMPLIMENTARY images depends on the session you choose. Your session details will clearly explain this, as well as any options for purchasing additional images.

Why is there a separate session fee?

Professional photography involves much more than the time spent taking photographs. It includes planning, preparation, equipment, expertise, editing and the care taken to create images you'll love.

After your session, each gallery is carefully reviewed and prepared before you receive it. Your session fee helps cover all of this work.

What should you ask before booking?

Photography pricing can vary considerably, so it's always worth asking:

• What does the session fee include?

• How many images are included?

• Are additional images available to purchase?

• When is payment due?

At Carien Lee Photography, I aim to keep pricing as clear and straightforward as possible, so you know exactly what to expect before booking.

In short, your session fee pays for the professional photography experience, and the complimentary images included (if any) will depend on the session you choose.
