Why I Don't Offer Discounts Just Because You're a Returning Client

One question I occasionally get is, "Can you do the bigger package for the price of the smaller one because we've been here before?"

The answer is usually no—and it isn't because I don't appreciate returning clients.

In fact, I absolutely love seeing families come back. Watching your family grow and meeting your newest little additions is one of the greatest privileges of being a newborn photographer.

But every new session requires the same amount of preparation, patience, skill and care as the last one.

When you book a newborn session, you're not simply paying for 90 minutes in front of the camera. You're investing in years of experience, professional equipment, a safe and welcoming studio, careful editing, planning, and the ability to adapt to every baby's unique personality. Every baby is different, and every session deserves my full attention.

Whether you're a first-time client or you've trusted me five times before, I pour the same heart, creativity and dedication into every single photograph.

What can be difficult is when photographers are expected to reduce their prices simply because someone asks. We rarely walk into a restaurant, hairdresser, mechanic or doctor's office expecting them to provide the same service for less. Photography should be treated with the same respect.

My pricing is carefully designed to reflect the amount of time involved, the number of people being photographed, and the work required both during and after your session. Larger family sessions naturally take more time and planning than newborn-only sessions, which is why different packages exist.

The best sessions happen when families trust me to do what I do best. I've photographed hundreds of newborns over the years, and every session is guided by your baby's comfort, safety and individual needs. Some babies sleep deeply, others prefer to stay awake, and every gallery is created around what your little one is happy to do on the day—not around unrealistic expectations.
